The aim of the Private Pilots Licence Aeroplanes (PPL(A) course is to train the student pilot to act as Pilot in Command (PIC) or co-pilot under the Visual Flight Rules. There are no pre-entry requirements for the Private Pilots Licence (PPL) course. However before flying solo, a student pilot must:

Course Duration
A full-time course of flight training for the Private Pilots Licence (PPL) is expected to last approx. 3 months depending on the weather. However, the majority of students will complete the training part-time over a period of time that suits their availability.
Flying Time
The Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) course comprises 45 hours of flight instruction, including at least 25 hours of dual flight instruction and 10 hours of supervised solo flight time, including 5 hours of solo cross-country flight time. Ground School The ground school is made up of the following elements; Self-study, Guided study, Long briefings and briefings totalling approximately over 100 hours.
